New plan for sustainable preservation of My Son relic - 05/01/2009
The Prime Minister has approved a plan to preserve the My Son ancient relic in central Quang Nam Province for the 2008-2020 period in a sustainable manner.

Landmine clearance, toxic chemical removal, as well as the preservation and upgrade of the ancient temples and towers in My Son are a focus of the plan.
The 282-billion VND project, funded by the State budget and donations from organisations and individuals inside and outside the country, aims to prevent further deterioration at the UNESCO-recognised world heritage site and the natural landscape of My Son from now to 2012.

Landmine clearance, toxic chemical removal, as well as the preservation and upgrade of the ancient temples and towers in My Son are a focus of the plan.

The plan also proposes measures to manage and develop cultural value of the relic in combination with regional socio-economic development plans.

In the long term, the plan seeks to increase the role of the local community in the preservation work and fully tap the tourism potential of the relic.
