On March 18th, the first flight from Kansai, Japan, landed at the Danang International Airport, bringing 161 Japanese tourists and representatives from 17 travel agents.
The Japanese tourists and representatives planned to survey Danang Golf Course, Hoang Dat Casino, and visit the Ba Na Tourist Site.
The representatives from 17 travel agents said that their visit to Danang aims to seek attractive tourist destinations to cooperate with and make useful connections with Central Vietnam Heritage.
In the end of December 2009, Danang’s representative office in Japan coordinated with the national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, to launch the first direct flight between Fukuoka, Japan and Danang.
The first direct flight carried 150 Japanese tourists to Vietnam in the Lunar New Year 2010 on the Hoi An – My Son Holy Land – Hue – Hanoi – Ha Long Bay route.
Also on March 18th, the “Seabourn Odessey” cruise ship took 352 tourists (mainly from UK and US) to Danang. The tourists visited Danang, Hue, Hoi An, and My Son Holy Land.
In the first two months of 2010, 12 international cruise ships docked at Danang’s Tien Sa Port, bringing 6,477 tourists, mainly British, US, French, Dutch, Canadian, and Australian on the popular route of Danang, Quang Nam, and Hue.
Danang is attracting both local and foreign tourists to the International Firework Competition 2010 which the city will host on March 27th and 28th. The competition is expected to welcome 70,000 tourist arrivals.
